lyrics
The Panoptical I
My cold bright cell
a thousand eyes on my skin
In these walls I fade, dissolve
Get lost in their condemning glance
Ref.:
I vanished, expired in all the roles I played
divided my essence to embers
the voices of judgement echo
I can not hear my self anymore
Who dares to define the I?
I am the guard to measure you
I am the prisoner to stand trial
I am the architect to create
I am the stone to be formed
Will I cease to exist
once all the eyes go blind?
In the towering circle of many eyes
I lose my trust in the pillars of truth
I am the panopticon, the panopticon is me
as the foundation trembles I become many
I vanished, expired in all the roles I played
divided my essence to embers
the voices of judgement echo
I can not hear my self anymore
who dares to define the I?

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

While Ofte jeg drømmer mig død will most likely always be my favourite Afsky album (being one ov my favourite albums in general), Om hundrede år ticks all the boxes I hoped it would: the calm and simultaneously depressing folk elements are there; the wailing screams of a forlorn spirit, forced to eternally wander the woods (apt comparison, deadpunk!); the harsh, bitterly cold guitar riffs and the ultimate realisation of life, death and our inevitable undoing. Exactly what I want. Recommended! David Fischer

The atmosphere on this record is amazing dark and beautiful almost spiritual at some points and crushing at others every song gave me goosebumps at some point vaguy22
